The book reviews that I post on this blog are strictly my own opinion and perception. I write about, and rate books, based on my own level of enjoyment of the book, not based on literary standards or accomplishments.

I use a 5-star rating system, meaning 2.5 stars would be an average book and something 4 stars or above is something I will heavily recommend. I typically won’t post a review of a book unless I enjoyed it enough that I feel like others should read it. This doesn’t mean it needs to be a 5-star read, but I won’t post about something I actively disliked.

If you would like to send me a book to review, please contact me with a synopsis of the book. Note that there are limitations to what I can/will read. My favourite books are fantasy, fantasy romance, and science fiction, but I also frequent historical fiction, literary fiction, general fiction, and occasionally romance. If the book you’d like reviewed falls outside of these areas, please feel free to send along a synopsis anyway. Sometimes a surprise is a welcome change. I prefer physical copies of books over digital copies when possible.

In terms of limitations to reviews, the following are circumstances where I may not be able to provide a review:

• Books that don’t sound as though they’ll hold my interest—these are better left to those who can be passionate about the story
• Books I don’t think I can get to in a timely manner—right now I have a heavy TBR pile, so if I don’t feel I can get to something in a reasonable timeframe, I won’t accept it

By accepting a review copy of a book, I endeavour to post about it via my Instagram stories when it arrives. However, I cannot guarantee that I will review it unless it’s been explicitly agreed to.
